The Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association was founded in 1955 by a group of African-American lawyers who mercilessly fought against injustice in Florida. Today, VHFCNBA consists of a network of over 1,500 attorneys statewide with sixteen affiliate chapters throughout the state of Florida. Our mission is ensuring access to the justice system; increasing economic parity for the less fortunate, underprivileged and disadvantaged of our society; and educating the community (particularly, the Black Community) on the need for empowerment and self-determination.
